My first visit in Thailand was in July 1987. Actually, I did not want to go there, but my friend urged me to go there with him. I thought that I would just follow him, as I had little information about Thailand. To tell the truth, I didn’t even know where Thailand was on the map. However, I think that situation was lucky for me because I could see Thailand without any preconceived ideas. If I had had information about this place, I would not have been so astonished by the enormous size of this statue.
